OpenRPF is an alternative to OpenIV.asi, which is now obsolete with GTA V's Enhanced version. It works in the same way, allowing modified files to be loaded from a mods folder, thus avoiding the need to modify the game's original files.
Features:
• OPEN & encrypted compatibility: OpenRPF supports both the game's native archives and those created with OpenIV (OPEN). No need to re-encrypt your modified files.
• rpf.cache bypass on Gen9: OpenRPF bypasses the rpf.cache for modified files placed in the mods folder, allowing them to load without additional intervention.
• Integrated ASI Loader: Just like OpenIV provided dinput8.dll, OpenRPF includes dsound.dll to enable ASI plugin loading in GTA V Enhanced (as well as loading OpenRPF.asi).
• Performance optimization: OpenIV.asi could cause slowdowns due to inefficient file loading management. OpenRPF fixes this issue for a smoother gaming experience.
Installation:
1. Extract the archive contents into the GTA V Enhanced directory (where GTA5_Enhanced.exe is located).
2. Create a mods folder.
3. Place your modified RPF archives inside this folder, just like with OpenIV.asi.
4. Launch the game and enjoy your mods on the Enhanced version of GTA V.
Warnings:
• The mod does not change file versions: Gen8 (GTA V Legacy) files on Gen9 (GTA V Enhanced) will cause a crash if used. Ensure you use GTA V Enhanced compatible files or convert them using Dexyfex's tool in CodeWalker.
• Some resources are not yet perfectly converted by CodeWalker: which may cause crashes or visual anomalies. If you encounter issues, feel free to report them on the CodeWalker Discord.
Changelog:
0.1: Initial release
0.2: Various fixes, deleting the dsound.dll, and default implementation of the cache bypass (no need for rpf.cache.disable anymore)
0.3: Compatibility update for versions 1013.17+ (GTA Online “A Safehouse in the Hills” update)

For those of you trying to get this to work with GTA 5 Enhanced and NVE/Natural Vision Enhanced, and know what you're doing, don't put the onigiri folder from NVE directly into your main GTA V Enhanced installation folder. Instead, you'll need to ensure you have a mods folder with an update folder inside it. And then ensure you have copied the update.rpf and x64 folder from \GTA 5 Enhanced main directory\update into that custom mods\update folder.
Once that is done, you'll need to manually place the files from onigiri using either Codewalker or OpenIV and ZEnhanced:
- \onigiri\common should be placed in \Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced\mods\update\update.rpf\common
- \onigiri\dlcpacks should be placed in \Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks
- \onigiri\platform should be placed in \Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced\mods\update\update.rpf/x64
- Then delete the onigiri.asi and onigi.ini files in the main directory
You'll get a warning that you have OpenRPF installed which conflicts with NVE when launching the game, but that is safe to ignore and things should all work as expected.
Does it work with Legacy?
@earthys it works perfectly over here, what are you on about ?
`OpenRPF includes dsound.dll`
but there no dsound.dll...
Running on Enhanced, The strange issue I am having is my mods will only load when I use the OG dsound.dll file from an old scripthookV release. But when I delete the dsound file and try to use the new dinput8, no mods load. I don't mind using the old way but when trying to boot into LSPDFR it crashes with the dsound. So I can either only play with LSPDFR no other mods, or play with mods and no LSPDFR. Make Sense?
LCPP doesn't work in GTA V Enhanced. I'm using the current OpenRPF. Any ideas?
Is not working on 1013.20.
@jedisk8tricks which version of scripthook?
Does this allow using Legacy mods on Enhanced?
working with latest enhanced update
I used the method of moving the NVE files to the mods folder, following this tip that MasterForge gave
- \onigiri\common should be placed in \Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced\mods\update\update.rpf\common
- \onigiri\dlcpacks should be placed in \Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks
- \onigiri\platform should be placed in \Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced\mods\update\update.rpf/x64
It worked, but the lights in my game were all blown out, lights from headlights, streetlights and others around the world, is there a way to solve this?
jedisk8tricks I have gta 5 enhanced version 1.0.811.8 and i have dinput8.dll and dsound.dll and xinput.dll and OpenRPF and ScripthookV but the mods folder didn't work. If you can help me I'll be very thankful my friend ❤
If it helps anyone, do not copy the update2.rpf folder into your update folder located in your mods folder! Otherwise, the game won't start!
not working after new update 1.0.1013.29 please update file with latest version
shit doesnt work
@noplaymaker It works perfectly with the Enhanced version.
@Rol00 Are you able to get these mods working with the latest game update released on March 17, 2026? I can't get my mods from the DLC pack to display!
@Gidoxy Unfortunately, I don’t know that — I’m modding a freshly reinstalled, clean version of the game.
after updated GTA, mods folder it doesn't work. please update
